Telangana CM Distributes Appointment Letters to Group-1 Officers After 13 Years

On Saturday, Telangana's Chief Minister, K. Chandrashekar Rao, presented appointment letters to newly appointed Group-1 service officers. These officials have successfully passed a competitive examination held after a gap of 13 years in the state.

During his address, Rao announced that a new law will soon be introduced, mandating a 10% salary deduction for officials who fail to care for their parents, with the deducted amount being directly deposited into their parents' accounts.

He congratulated all parents present, stating that their dreams are about to be realized. He urged everyone to take good care of their parents, warning that failure to do so would result in a portion of their salary being redirected to their parents' accounts.

Rao noted that the last Group-1 service examination in undivided Andhra Pradesh was conducted in 2011. He criticized the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government for not recruiting officials despite being in power for a decade since the formation of Telangana in 2014.

The state public service commission had recruited 562 officers through the Group-1 service examination held last year.
